This article will focus on the Milan Fashion Week.
What Is It, Exactly?
The Milan Fashion Week is held twice a year, specifically during the months of February and September. It is held in Milan, Italy. It is an event where all fashion enthusiasts come together to witness the array of clothes and fashion pieces that numerous brands have to offer.
This is organized by the NGO named Camera Nazionale
The event is so big that it is estimated that about fifteen million euros are spent just to make it happen. This includes the surrounding businesses as well as the hotels that house the different guests. Aside from the two major fashion shows each year, the MFW also holds a men’s version in June and January. These shows are significantly smaller as they target as smaller audience.
When Does This Happen?
As aforementioned, this is a biannual event that happens during February and September. The first of its kind actually occurred during the year 1958. That included a small collection of catwalk shows as well as other fashion exhibitions. The primary goal of the show was to present luxury Italian fashion in a manner that perfectly captures its essence. The goal of the fashion show was to endorse and to promote the numerous Italian fashion designers and fashion labels both locally and all over the globe. This is still happening until today/
Where Is The Venue?
As the name implies, this fashion show is held in Milan, Italy. Because of the sheer size of the event, there is no single venue that can accommodate everyone and there are now three major venues that host the highlights of the week. These venues include the Spazio Cavallerizze, Sala delle Cariadti, and Padiglione Visconti. Some of the other venues are located within the city as well. Some shows are held along Lake Como or in the restored vineyard of the iconic artist Leonardo Da Vinci. Each venue is often transformed into an immersive experience that effectively showcases the different brands while constantly engaging the audience members.
